Registration

Location

This pleasant 5K out-and-back run and walk, all on the Montour Trail, begins 800 feet north of the trail’s J. R. Taylor Memorial Bridge over Clifton Road in Bethel Park, near McMurray Road. Runners will zoom along the flat, crushed limestone surface of the Montour Trail’s Bethel Branch to a turnaround point north of Brush Run Road and then return to the start. Runners and walkers will cross the bridge in both directions. All participants start together and receive chip-based times.

Fees

Pre-registration fee is $20 per person through May 12, $25 per person from May 13 to May 30, and $30 on race day. Special discount price of $12 for young runners (under age 18) through May 12.

Schedule

The JR Taylor Memorial 5K run begins at 8:30 a.m. Walkers will begin at the same time.

Awards/Prizes

Awards: Fleet Feet gift certificates to top 3 overall, male/female; medals to top master’s finisher (age 40 and up), top 3 in each age category (10 and under, 11-14, 15–19, 20–24, 25-29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70+), male/female

All participants registered by May 12 will receive a t-shirt. Others will receive T-shirts if available.

Registration/Packet Pickup

Race location: Washington Elementary School, 515 Clifton Road, Bethel Park.  Parking is available in the Washington School parking lot and the upper section of the Al’s Café parking lot.

Advance packet pickup will be available at Fleet Feet, 1751 North Highland Road (Norman Centre II), from 5:00 to 7:00 Thursday, May 30 and 3:00 to 7:00 on Friday, May 31.

Race-day registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Washington Elementary School.

Other Information

Proceeds from the event goes toward the maintenance of the Bethel Branch of the Montour Trail.
