NEW THIS YEAR!
We’ve added a slew of chance and silent auctions to our line-up this year, including gift certificates, hotel stays, cycling gear and clothing, tickets to Pittsburgh attractions, locally-brewed wine and spirits, and more! Check below for more prize information.
The Tour the Montour is a non-competitive fundraising ride. Sponored by Fed Ex and Budd Baer Subaru, it offers a fun family Saturday event as well as rides for the more-serious cyclist. Ride lengths vary from a short distance to 62 miles (a metric 100, or century). Rest stops with fruit, snacks and beverages are placed along the course. A great post-ride lunch won’t disappoint. And we’re famous for our fabulous commemorative T-shirts, door prizes, raffles, and great times with fellow cyclists. We suggest that you ride with a friend!
For safety reasons, no headphones allowed and helmets are mandatory. The Tour the Montour takes place rain or shine.
Emergency-only mechanical assistance will be available at the start/finish; participants and their bikes should be in good condition prior to the ride. SAG (support & gear) crews as well as Trail patrol volunteers will cover the course, looking out for mechanical or physical problems.
The main raffle features four items:
- Fuji trail bike, sized-to-fit
- Giant Escape trail bike, sized-to-fit, with helmet/T-shirt
- Seven Springs 2-night stay, includes breakfast
- Aero Tech Designs clothing: Pittsburgh jersey, shorts, more; male or female size
Tickets are $5 each, and the winner does not need to be present to win! Check the Facebook page for locations/times when volunteers will be trailside selling raffle tickets.
There is also a chance auction that includes more than 20 baskets of goods and a dozen gift certificates:
- Hotel stays
- Restaurant gift certificates
- Cycling gear and clothing
- Tickets to the city’s attractions
- Home decor and garden items
- Penguins bobbleheads
- Food, wine and spirits
Tickets for the chance auction are $1 each in increments of five.
Finally, our silent auction features four items:
- Trek FX LTD 20-inch, 27-gear hybrid bicycle
- All Clad 3-quart hybrid-stainless pan with lid
- Biking jersey, men’s large
- Fire pit, wood-burning
All silent auction items have minimum bids.
So bring your wallet and be ready for the post-ride fun! Cash and credit cards are accepted. Watch our Facebook page for updates.
All raffle and auction proceeds benefit the Montour Trail annual ride.
Prizes will be awarded mid-afternoon the day of the event, and winners need not be present. If you cannot claim your prize that day, you can make arrangement to pick up your prize at the Montour Trail Council office in Bridgeville (412-257-3011). To claim, you must show your winning ticket stub and identification. We can mail gift certificates only to your address.
