A one-month closure of the Great Allegheny Passage trail starting next month in West Mifflin is a prelude to an $8 million project to fix multiple landslides. A 2-mile section of the trail, near milepost 137, will close completely from the evening of July 9 to Aug. 6 for a scaling project to remove loose rocks from the hill above the trail.
A large tree fell and is blocking access to the trail parking lot at mile marker 0. The lot is temporarily closed until the tree can be removed. Please use caution in the area. Information about additional parking locations can be found here: https://montourtrail.org/trailheads-2/
