There are a number of all-important water fountains and portable toilets along the Montour Trail as well as picnic shelters, strategically placed benches, pop-up gardens, found-object sculptures, Little Free Libraries and memorials. You can even find black raspberries along the Trail edge, ripe for the picking in summer.
There are some food, lodging, retail and other services near the Trail, usually a short distance away and clustered near major towns. Several nearby bike shops offer rentals and repairs. And off-trail convenience stores likely have ATMs.
Amenities are listed in order of Trail mileage and, where appropriate, grouped by towns along the route. If you need GPS coordinates for any location, you can find them on the Trailheads page.
Amenity Details
In general, townships along the Trail make determinations about when to turn on/off the fountains. Water facilities usually are active when there is no threat of freezing, typically from early April to mid-October.
