TRAIL ALERT: MM 4.8-5, Airport area

A streambank stabilization project will take place late July through mid August on Montour Trail along Sawmill Run. There will be heavy equipment at the work site, including large excavators and trucks that will come and go throughout the workday between 7am and 5pm. Temporary stoppage of trail traffic is likely. Please use caution in that area and heed the signs/flaggers' warnings.

Airport Connector Construction: Late Summer-Winter

Along the Airport connector, construction begins in early August to replace the Clinton Enlow Bridge, which is near MM 1. The work will run through late November/early December. This portion of the Montour Trail will remain OPEN at all times throughout construction for pedestrian traffic only. The bridge will be closed for motor vehicles throughout construction.

TRAIL ALERT: Irishtown parking lot (Bethel Park branch) CLOSED

The Montour Trail Maintenance Crew will be moving their base of operation from the Limestone trailhead to the Irishtown trailhead starting on Monday 8/4/2025. To accommodate the material and equipment needed to resurface the trail, the Irishtown parking lot will be CLOSED to trail users until work is completed on this section of the trail. Muse Branch Ribbon Cutting

The greater community Pittsburgh is invited to attend the official opening of the Muse branch on Thursday, August 21. It takes place at 10 AM at the Muse trailhead, near the McConnell Trails residential development on McConnell Road in Cecil Township. 2025 Tour the Montour

The 23rd annual Tour the Montour takes off on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Online registration is open! The ride is a non-competitive, family-fun bike ride that begins at mile marker zero in Coraopolis. Parking is at AHN Montour Junction Sports Complex, which is adjacent to the start/finish line. The event features a variety of distances to ride, each following the off-road Montour Trail. The surface is hard-packed crushed limestone.
