Along the Airport connector, construction work began in early August to replace the Clinton Enlow Bridge, which is near MM 1. The bridge itself will be closed beginning October 13. The work will run through late November/early December. This portion of the Montour Trail will remain OPEN at all times throughout construction for pedestrian traffic only. The bridge will be closed for motor vehicles throughout construction.
The MTC all-volunteer maintenance crew is currently conducting resurfacing operations on the Westland branch in Chartiers and Mt Pleasant townships. Trail users should exercise caution on this branchline between MM W-3.5 and W-3.9 as heavy equipment, such as excavators, tractors, and steamrollers, will be in use. The maintenance crew expects this project to be completed by mid-September. Please note the Westland trailhead parking complex will be intermittently closed.
The all-volunteer Maintenance crew will conduct resurfacing work on the Westland Branch beginning September 17 until completion in October. The parking lot at Hornhead Road will be closed at times while work is ongoing. Please use caution in the area; if you are biking, walk your bicycle around the equipment to help keep our volunteers and fellow trail users safe.
A First Energy utility crew will be on the Bethel branch this coming week, scheduled to work on Tuesday, September 30, through Thursday, October 2. Though they may not be working on the Trail itself, there will be signs and safety cones between Limestone Drive and Clifton Road to alert cyclists and pedestrians. Be cautious in the area.
