Resurfacing operations in Cecil Township

The Montour Trail Maintenance Crew will be conducting resurfacing operations in Cecil township between the National Tunnel (MM 25) and the Tandem Connection (MM 27.2) in mid-September. There will be large equipment on the trail, including excavators, tractors and steamrollers. Please pay close attention to all warning signs.  Use caution and please walk your bicycle around the equipment. Help to keep us all safe — both the volunteer workers and your fellow Montour Trail users.

South Hills Trail Ribbon Cutting

Montour Trail Council will hold the official grand opening for a new section of trail between Stewart Road and Wood Street along Piney Fork Creek in South Park Township at approximately MM 36.6. The opening of this section of trail is a notable milestone for the Montour Trail. It not only closes the last trail gap between Library and the western part of Jefferson Hills Borough, but it eliminates the last on-road section of trail  between MMo0.0 in Moon Township […]

Trailhead Closures near MM 0

At dawn on Wednesday, October 23, Moon Township Police will close the trail at MM 0.0 in Moon Township,  MM1.4 at Hassam Road and  M-3.1 Old Beaver Grade Road trailheads. Moon Police and 20 Allegheny detectives with search dogs will be conducting a thorough investigation of the recent incident.  The Moon police will be placing barriers at all three trailheads. They  will notify Montour Trail Council when the trail can re-open.
