Beginning on June 9, the Clairton Municipal Authority will excavate a trench across the Montour Trail near the Clairton trailhead to install a drain pipe. There will be a detour on the grass around the excavation. Trail users should use caution, as there will be power equipment at the site and an open trench for several days. The detour may be in place for several weeks, even after the trench is filled in.
The Montour Trail Council's always-active maintenance crew will be working in the area between MM 21 and 22 in western Cecil township, preparing and executing resurfacing operations through early July. Note that parking at the Galati trailhead will be limited during this time. Please exercise caution as heavy equipment, including excavators, steamrollers, and dump trucks, will be on the trail in this area.
Starting July 11, the all-volunteer maintenance crew will be resurfacing the Bethel Park branch line. Please be patient and use caution while maneuvering around the volunteers and resurfacing equipment. Paving equipment may occupy various Bethel-area parking lots during this time, so use alternative lots if you encounter congestion.
